Apple devices are the simplest of all to set up. There is no sideloading and no hidden settings: the player comes straight from the App Store, and you log in with your Pulse details.
The same steps work on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.
- An iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV (4th generation or newer)
- Your Pulse IPTV username, password and server address
Step 1: Install a player from the App Store
Apple does not allow IPTV services to publish their own apps, so you use a general player.
- Open the App Store.
- Search for IPTV Smarters or GSE Smart IPTV. Both work well with Pulse.
- Install it and open it.
Step 2: Choose Xtream Codes
- When the app asks how to add a playlist, pick Xtream Codes (sometimes shown as Login with Xtream Codes API).
- Avoid the M3U option. It works, but you lose the TV guide.
Step 3: Enter your Pulse details
- Name: Pulse IPTV
- Username and Password: from your welcome email.
- Server URL: from your welcome email, with
http://and the port. - Tap Add User or Login.
Step 4: Load your channels
- The first load takes a minute. After that, the app opens straight into your channels.
If something goes wrong
Typing on Apple TV is slow
When the keyboard appears, your iPhone shows a prompt to type on it instead. Much faster than the remote.
No TV guide
You probably added an M3U link. Delete it and add the account again using Xtream Codes.
The app asks for payment
Some iOS players charge a small fee. That goes to the app's developer, not to Pulse IPTV.
Questions
Why is there no Pulse IPTV app on the App Store?
Apple's rules do not allow IPTV services to publish their own players, so every provider uses a general player like IPTV Smarters.
Can I cast from my iPhone to the TV?
Yes, with AirPlay. For the best picture though, install the player on an Apple TV directly.
